From December 17th to 19th,The 3rd Workshop on Spatial Economics Theory and Policy: Region, Industry and Trade and the 10th Workshop on Spatial Statistics and Spatial Econometric Analysis were successfully held.The Workshop was co-sponsored by ECUST School of Business and the Institute for Advanced Study of Social Sciences,and hosted by the Institute of Economic Development and the Department of Economics of the School.

This workshop was held both online and offline at the same time and was hosted by Dr.DENG Nanxin,Professor of Department of Economics.

On the morning of the 19th, Dr. WU Yuming, Deputy Dean of the School delivered an opening speech for the workshop.

The first half of the keynote speech was hosted by Dr.DENG Nanxin.

Mark Partridge, former president of the International Association for Regional Science, Professor of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics, Ohio State University, Dr. Kelley Pace, Professor of Finance Department, Louisiana State University, Dr. Bao Shuming, Director of the Urban and Regional Analysis Laboratory of the School, and Director of the China Data Research Institute, Dr. WU Yuming, Professor of the School made reports respectively.

The second half of the keynote speech was hosted by Dr, WU Yuming. Dr. SHI Yulong, Director of the China Urban and Small Town Reform and Development Center, Dr. TIAN Suhua, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics, Fudan University, Dr, QIN Xiangdong, Professor of Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Director of the Smith Experimental Economics Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Adjunct Professor of the Oliver Hart Contract and Governance Research Center of East China University of Science and Technology made reports respectively.

Four parallel sessions were held on the afternoon of the 19th. Nearly 30 experts and scholars from Renmin University of China, Tongji University, East China Normal University, Shanghai University, Northwest University, Nanchang University, Harbin University of Commerce, Ningxia University, Duke Kunshan University, and Soochow University, Hefei University of Technology, Chongqing Technology and Business University, Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, Northeast Forestry University, Jilin Agricultural University, Guilin Tourism College and East China University of Science and Technology and other major universities and scientific research institutions respectively reported on the themes of "regional economy", "industrial economy", "international trade",“Space Economy”.
