Recently, the Ministry of Education released the Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on Announcing the List of National and Provincial First-class Undergraduate Majors in 2021 (JGTH [2022] No. 14), in which five majors of Finance, International Economics and Trade, Engineering Management, Marketing, and Accounting of ECUST School of Business were selected as national first-class undergraduate majors. Up to now, the School has 8 national first-class undergraduate majors.

In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the National Education Conference and the Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Modernization of Education (2018-2022), fulfill the requirements of the National Conference on Undergraduate Education in the New Era and the Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Accelerating the Construction of High-level Undergraduate Education to Comprehensively Improve the Cultivation Capacity of Talents, the Ministry of Education has launched the "Double-First Class Major" Initiative of first-class undergraduate majors since April 2019 to promote the development of new engineering, new medicine, new agriculture and new liberal arts, strengthen first-class undergraduate education, build first-class majors and cultivate first-class talents, comprehensively revitalize undergraduate education, improve the talent cultivation capacity of colleges and universities, and realize the connotative development of higher education.

The School of Business will continue to earnestly implement the "Double-First Class Major" Initiative and promote the connotative development of undergraduate education, give full play to the demonstration role of first-class majors in major innovation, faculty, teaching resources, etc., and comprehensively improve the quality of talent cultivation to facilitate its "double first-class" development.
