Memorandum of Understanding on Miami Partner Program Successfully Signed

On October 9th, ECUST School of Business signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Miami Partner Program with the University of Miami Herbert Business School (hereinafter referred to as "Miami Business School"). Dr. Harihara Prasad Natarajan, Vice Dean of Miami Business School, Mr. John CHEN, Advisor and Admission Director, and Ms. Margaret WU, Assistant Director attended the signing ceremony. Dr. SONG Yuanyang, Vice Dean of the ECUST School of Business, and Dr. PENG Zeyu, Director of the International Office warmly received the guests.

On behalf of the School, Vice Dean SONG Yuanyang firstly welcomed Vice Dean Harihara and his delegation, and introduced the programs and discipline characteristics of the School. He said that with internationalization as one of the key strategies of the School, it is our major goal to cooperate with outstanding international higher educational institutions to nurture economic and managerial talents with international vision. He hoped that the two sides would combine their own strengths to foster leading business talents, and take the chance to facilitate resource sharing, complement each other's strengths, and to further consolidate the foundation of our partnership.

Vice Dean Harihara expressed his gratitude for the hospitality of our School, and mentioned that the ECUST Business School is the first stop of the University of Miami's visit to China. Harihara introduced that the University of Miami is a top private higher educational institution located in Florida, U.S.A. Its Herbert Business School has passed three key accreditations, namely AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), AMBA (The Association of MBAs), and EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System). Herbert Business School has many advantageous disciplines, including Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, and Health Management. He said that it is their School’s pursuit to improve students' academic proficiency, enrich students' practical experience, and lay a solid foundation for their future career development. Harihara said that they are looking forward to receiving excellent students from ECUST Business School for exchange and study.

Subsequently, both sides had an in-depth discussion on the details of the partner program and possibilities of future cooperation. John CHEN claimed that the master's degree program in Health Management offered by Miami Business School has long been in the leading position in the United States, and their graduates have made a lot of achievements in the field of Health Care. In this regard, PENG Zeyu said that General Health industry is also an important area for the development of our School. In the future, the School can rely on the disciplinary advantages of ECUST in the field of biology and pharmaceuticals, combined with the advanced experience of Miami Business School in the field of Health Care Management, so as to develop more high-quality partner programs that will benefit more students and related industries.

At the end of the ceremony, representatives from both sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Miami partner program. Under this program, the School will recommend four outstanding undergraduates annually to the Miami Business School. Nominated Students will enroll in its master's degree programs and will receive a merit-based scholarship of up to 15% of the published tuition rate.
