East China University of Science and Technology - Rennes School of Business Sino-French EMBA Double Degree Graduation Ceremony and 2023 EMBA Opening Ceremony Was Successfully hosted at ECUST on Oct. 28, 2023!

Mr. Jordane PEDRON, Director of the Executive Education at Rennes SB, France, Professor Jiang Zhiqiang, Vice Chairman of School Council, Professor Huang Lujin, Ms. Liu Xianshan, Director of MBA/EMBA Program, Ms. Xu Tingting, Director of Teaching and Degree Management Department, all the students of the class of 2020 and 2023 Sino-French EMBA Double Degree Program, students' families, class mentors and other students attended the ceremony.

01 Leaders’Speech

At the beginning of the event, Professor Jiang Zhiqiang, Vice Chairman of School Council, ECUST, first delivered a speech for the ceremony and expressed his sincere congratulations to all the Sino-French graduates of Class 2020 and EMBA freshmen of class 2023.

Professor Jiang said that ECUST Business School has always been based in Shanghai, expanded its horizons to include the whole world, and adhering to the concept of differentiation and internationalization. As an important partner of ECUST, Rennes Business School also provides a unique international exchange opportunity for the ECUST students. Professor Jiang sent a message to the graduates and freshmen, hoping that the students can uphold the spirit of the School motto, "diligent and realistic, inspirational and bright morality", adhere to the practice of diligence, the unity of knowledge and action, and become the pillars of the new era who can shoulder the historical mission and assume social responsibility.

Mr. Jordane PEDRON, Director of RSB Executive Education, France, attended the ceremony and extended his best wishes to the Sino-French graduates and freshmen. He said, very honored to see the class of 2020 students to gain academic achievements, and on the depth of the two universities close cooperation. We are very proud of the cooperative concept of training senior management talents together. Finally, he sincerely welcomes graduates and current students to join the Rennes Global Alumni Association, so as to gain a broader international network resources and development platform.

02 Speech by Faculty Representatives

Afterwards, Professor Huang Lujin, ECUST School of Business, delivered a speech on behalf of the teaching faculty of the School. She said that the students of the class of 2020 were able to overcome the inconvenience caused by the epidemic and successfully complete their personal studies, which is something to be very proud of. “I also hope that after graduation, you can continue to actively meet the challenges of the future with positive mindset and live a wonderful life”.

At the same time, she hopes that the new students of 2023 can make full use of the learning platform of the two universities, study hard, and improve themselves and succeed in their studies under the joint training of the excellent teachers both from ECUST and Rennes SB.

03 Speech by Student Representative

After the speeches of the leaders and professor both sides, Mr. Li Peng, a student of the Sino-French EMBA Class of 2020, made a speech as the graduate representative and shared his perception of the two-and-a-half years EMBA study journey. He said that although the epidemic brings inconvenience to the learning process, the French professors have provided unique perspectives for themselves, while understanding the cultural differences between the two countries, he has cultivated his own international perspective.

Finally, on behalf of all the students of Grade 2020, Mr. Li Peng gave thanks to teachers of the two universities for their hard working, and sent his best wishes to his classmates.

Next, Ms. Cheng Tian, a student of the 2023 Sino-French EMBA class speaks on behalf of the new students. She admits that in order to succeed in today's fast-changing business environment, she must constantly improve herself. The joint EMBA program at ECUST provides students with a new perspective to explore, improve their leadership skills, and thus have the ability to navigate the complexities of the contemporary business world.

At the same time, she is full of expectations for the upcoming EMBA study, hoping that the students can share their learning experience with each other and learn rich knowledge in the Chinese and French classes together.

04 Ritual Part

After the wonderful speeches by the teachers and students of both sides, the ceremony ushered in the most important " Tassel Turning" session and the awarding ceremony of the French degree. Prof. Jiang called out each graduate’s name, while Mr. Jordane PEDRON followed the Degree awarding, and took photos with those graduates.

Subsequently, at the Opening Ceremony, Prof. Jiang read the new students’ name in the 2020 Sino-French EMBA Double degree class, while Mr. Jordane PENRON did a RSB badge wearing for the 2023 Sino-French EMBA EMBA freshmen, marking that the students officially became a member of the ECUST-Rennes Sino-French EMBA family.

Finally, Mr. Li Peng, the graduate representative of the Class of 2020, presented Mr. Jordane PEDRON with a commemorative gift from ECUST. At this point, the first cohort EMBA Graduate Ceremony of Sino-French EMBA Double Degree Program and the opening ceremony of 2023, collaborated by East China University of Science and Technology - Rennes School of Business came to a successful end.

Ms. Xu Tingting, Director, the Department of Teaching and Degree Management, presided over the ceremony.
