ECUST Sibiu Sino-European International Business School Holds the Working Meeting for Year 2023

On October 18th, 2023, the ECUST Business School and Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania (hereafter referred to as “Sibiu University”) held an online working meeting on the operation of the ECUST Sino-European International Business School in Sibiu (hereafter referred to as “the International Business School”), which was jointly established by the two universities in 2018. The meeting was attended by Prof. Silvia Florea, Dean of the International Business School of the Romanian side, Dr. MENG Lei, Executive Dean of the International Business School of the Chinese side, and Dr. PENG Zeyu, Director of the International Office.

At the very beginning, Prof. Sylvia Florea introduced the development and status-quo of the one-year graduate program on Sino-European Intercultural and Business Communication from 2022 to 2023. She pointed out that the program is the first Sino-Romanian graduate program in intercultural and business communication, which aims to cultivate globalized talents with intercultural business communication skills, who can promote the economic and trade development between China and Central, Eastern European markets. She pointed out that through this program, the participants have gained a deeper understanding of China's economy, business environment, business law and financial market, improved their intercultural business communication skills and enhanced their competitiveness in the job market.

Dr. PENG Zeyu expressed his sincere gratitude to the Romanian side for their efforts and dedications in promoting the development of the program. He said that the Sino-Romanian program between the two universities is committed to cultivating more modern business talents for both Romanian and Chinese enterprises, and that the two sides can continue to strengthen the cooperation and seek more development opportunities in the joint degree program in the coming years.


Dr. MENG Lei claimed that in response to the feedback we received about the undergoing Sino-Romanian program, the Chinese side will continue to improve the quality of the joint program. In the future, both sides will be committed to promoting the Sino-Romanian cultural and business exchanges, and make joint contributions to the sustainable development and other key areas.


The ECUST Sino-European International Business School was jointly established by East China University of Science and Technology and Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania on April 10th , 2018. This is the very first cooperative school jointly run by ECUST with overseas partners. Since the establishment of the ECUST Sino-European International Business School in Sibiu, it has completed three sessions of Chinese business training courses with a total enrollment of 164 students. The first one-year graduate program on Sino-European Intercultural and Business Communication enrolled 18 students. Courses offered by the Chinese side include Chinese Business Environment, China and World Economy, Chinese Financial Market, Chinese Business Law and Chinese History and Culture. Our School is committed to sharing high-quality educational resources with the Central and Eastern European countries and building a bridge between China and Romania in education, research cooperation, as well as business exchanges.
