The Delegation Led by Prof. David Ward, University of Portsmouth, Visits the School

    On the afternoon of 21st March, 2024, Prof. David Ward, Associate Dean of the Business and Law School of the University of Portsmouth (U.K.), Mr. Yang Rui, Associate Dean of the Department of Organisations, Systems and People, and Ms. YANG Yejie, Director of the China Office, came to our School for an exchange visit. Prof. SONG Yuanyang, Vice Dean of the School of Business, Prof. LI Youping, Head of the Department of Economics and Dr. YANG Jianxia, Deputy Head of the Department of Economics, Mr. ZHOU Haibo, Director of the Office of Admission and Academic Affairs of the College of International Education, and Ms. PAN Xuejing, Deputy Director of the International Office of the School of Business, took part in the meeting.

       Prof. SONG Yuanyang extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the Business and Law School, University of Portsmouth. He stressed that our School attaches great importance to internationalization and actively seeks to develop high-quality cooperation with outstanding international institutions. He briefed the visiting delegation on the basic situation of the School and highlighted the achievements of the School's fully English taught programs, such as the undergraduate International Economics and Trade program, in nurturing talents with global background and competitiveness. He said that the two sides could develop in-depth cooperation in programs such as the Undergraduate Dual Degree program to provide students with more opportunities for academic exchanges and practice.

      David Ward thanked the School for its warm reception. He introduced the characteristics and advantages of the Business and Law School of the University of Portsmouth in talent cultivation. The School focuses on cultivating students' leadership and innovation, encourages students to participate in international exchange and internship programs, and actively promotes international cooperation and exchanges among faculty members to ensure the quality and standard of education. He emphasized the willingness of the Business and Law School of the University of Portsmouth to cooperate with the School of Business, East China University of Science and Technology in multiple ways.
        Subsequently, the two sides had an in-depth discussion on the undergraduate "2+2" dual-degree program, faculty visits, student exchanges and other forms of cooperation.
