On 29th March, 2024 Forum on Innovation and Development of Medical Device Industry was held in the School. The forum was co-organised by the School and Zhihui Pharmaceuticals, with the support and assistance of Shanghai Food and Drug Safety Research Association, China Pharmaceutical Equipment Engineering Association, Mechagu (Shanghai) Enterprise Development Company Limited, Beijing Ink Information Technology Company Limited, and the Great Health Club of the Business School. The forum was centred on the core theme of "Collaboration - Innovation and Empowerment", aiming to promote the innovation and development of the medical device industry. The forum gathered more than 300 alumni and experts from the medical industry.

Prof. MA Tieju, then Dean of the School of Business, pointed out that at present, China's attention to the medical device industry is increasing day by day, the policy support has been significantly strengthened, and clear requirements have been put forward in promoting industrial innovation. In accordance, the School continuously deepens the cooperation between industry, academia and research, and launches unique professional degree programmes for two key areas, namely, the management of the great health industry and biomedicine, to cultivate high-quality talents adapted to the needs of the times, and to serve the innovation and development of the national medical device industry. Prof. JIANG Zhiqiang, Deputy Secretary of the School Council, presided over the opening ceremony.

In the main forum, Mr. WEI Junjing, Vice President and Secretary General of Shanghai Food and Drug Safety Research Association, made a report on "Medical Device Legislation and Regulatory Trends", discussing the challenges and opportunities of the current medical device legislation, while Mr. HUANG Donglin, Head of E-Pharmaceutical Manager Research Institute, reviewed the development history of the centralised volume purchasing of consumables and analyzed the logic behind it. He focused on the topic of "Review of Centralised Banded Purchasing of Consumables and Selection of Corporate Response Strategies", reviewing the development history of centralised banded purchasing of consumables and analysing the logic behind it. YAO Yanfeng, Marketing Director of Weigao Medical Commercial Industry Group, shared the Group's exploration and practice of high-value consumables management with the theme of "Exploring the Change of High-Value Consumables Management Mode in the Context of the New Era". YUAN Zhixiong, Senior Consultant of Beijing Jingyingke Information Technology Co., Ltd, gave a keynote speech on the topic of "Digital Driving to Promote High Quality Development of Pharmaceutical Supply Chain" and introduced the company's business as well as the key role of digital driving in the pharmaceutical supply chain. Roy Chen, Principal Consultant of Ekunwei Enterprise Management Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, gave a comprehensive review of the band purchasing strategy in the field of medical devices, the impact of policy support, and the future development trend of the industry. ZHU Jianyun, Head of Smart Pharma, moderated the main forum.

In the sub-forum "Innovation and Development of Medical Device Industry", TIAN Lining, Chairman of Dental Valley Hospital Group and President of Yida Stomatology and Dental Valley College, ZHANG Rui, Co-founder and Deputy General Manager of Cuoran Bio-pharmaceutical Technology (Shanghai) Co. Together, they had an in-depth sharing and discussion on the innovation and development of the medical device industry. LI Jiao, National Senior Marketing Manager of Dazen Ophthalmology, moderated the sub-forum.

In the round-table forum, QIN Yinbing, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Branch of Chongqing Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd, acted as the moderator and led an in-depth discussion on "How to do a good job in the new situation of medical equipment production and marketing system innovation and exploration". WANG Bing, Deputy General Manager of Tongkeling Medical Instruments (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, HUANG Shaojie, General Manager of Jishui Logistics Business Segment of Ruikang Pharmaceutical Group, CAI Peng, Deputy Director of DQC Testing Laboratory, WANG Hao, Chairman of Shanghai Kangzhan Logistics Co., Ltd, and WU Yuankai, Director of Planning and Development Department of Logistics Division of Sinopharm Holdings, participated in the discussion. The guests emphasised the key role of institutional innovation in product development, logistics and distribution, quality testing, logistics services and supply chain management, and shared their innovative practices and successful experiences, which provide important support for promoting the sustainable development of the medical device industry.
