Synopsis

This lecture will explore the impact of digitally-intelligent information on capital market valuation and enterprise cost management strategies, construct enterprise digitally-intelligent information metrics using artificial intelligence techniques such as video processing, image recognition, text analysis, machine learning, and big data analytics, and assess how such digitally-intelligent information metrics can improve the efficiency of pricing in the external capital market and the efficiency of internal operation and management. This lecture will also explore how enterprises identify and assess their data assets holdings, and discuss relevant cases of enterprise data resource tabulation and data asset management based on field research.

Introduction to the lecturer

HUANG Rong is the Li Dasan Chair Professor of Accounting and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Management, Fudan University, and has been selected for important talent programmes in China and Shanghai. Previously, she was an associate professor of accounting at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, a visiting professor at China Europe International Business School, an associate professor at Baruch College of the City University of New York with tenure, and a PhD graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas. Her research interests include performance evaluation, cost management, capital markets, data assets, and data elements. She is currently an associate editor of Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, an editorial board member of Management Accounting Research, and a member of the Financial Management Committee of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Professor Huang teaches in MBA, EMBA, Finance MBA, and Accounting undergraduate and graduate programmes, and is the main lecturer of Financial Data Analysis, Management Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, and Accounting Information System.
