Prof. Ginger Y. Ke of the University of Newfoundland, Canada gives a lecture at ECUST

    On 25th March, at the invitation of the School and the Research Centre for Operations and Supply Chain Management, Professor Ke Yi from the School of Business of the University of Newfoundland, Canada, gave a lecture on "Managing Emergency Logistics for Hazardous Materials" to the faculty and students of the School of Business. The lecture was hosted by Prof. FAN Tijun. Associate Prof. LIU Liping, Associate Prof. LI Shuxia, Associate Prof. LI Lin as well as doctoral and master's degree students from the Research Centre for Operations and Supply Chain Management attended the lecture and academic seminar.

    In this lecture, Prof. Ke Yi introduced the current status of research on emergency logistics management of dangerous goods, proposed a time-varying risk assessment method considering population dynamics, and shared two mixed-integer planning models using two-stage robust optimisation, as well as the corresponding algorithmic solutions and case studies, and explored the possible future research directions. Professor Ke Yi's sharing gave faculty and students a deeper understanding of the research frontiers of emergency logistics management of dangerous goods as well as the related models and algorithms.

Introduction to the Lecturer:

    Dr Ginger Y. Ke is currently a Professor (M.S., Ph.D.) in the School of Business at the University of Newfoundland, Canada, and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Management Science at the University of Waterloo, Canada, and in the Department of Mechanical, Automotive and Materials Engineering at the University of Windsor, Canada. She received her B.S. degree in Management Information Systems from Jinan University, her B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Windsor, Canada, and her M.S. degree in Systems Engineering and Ph.D. degree in Management Science from the University of Waterloo, Canada, where she was awarded the National Natural Resources Foundation of Canada (NSERC) for her research projects in 2015 and 2022. She has published nearly 70 papers in reputed international journals and academic conferences during her study and work, and has given more than 40 research presentations in various international conferences, and is currently an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Shipping and Transport Logistics. His research interests include decision theory, game theory, operations research, logistics and supply chain management. Some of his papers have been published in International Journal of Production Economics, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Journal of Cleaner Production, European Journal of Operational Research, Computers & Operations Research, and Transportation Research Series, etc. She has reviewed for more than 40 international academic and conference journals, including Production and Operations Management, Omega, Information Sciences, and Naval Research Logistics.
