Students Excel in 10th National University Student Energy Economy Academic Creativity Competition

    From May 18th to 19th , the 10th National University Student Energy Economy Academic Creativity Competition was successfully held in China University of Geosciences, Beijing. After a fierce competition, CHENG Silu, a PhD student majoring in Applied Economics, won the Grand Prize in the Graduate Student Group; CHENG Xiang, a PhD student of Applied Economics, won the Third Prize in the Graduate Student Group. CHEN Ziyue, an undergraduate student of majoring in Economics, and SHI Xiwen, an undergraduate student majoring in International Economics and Trade, won the Second Prize and the Third Prize in the Undergraduate Group respectively. This is the very first time for the School to win the grand prize in this event. In additin, Prof. SHAO Shuai from the Department of Economics won the Outstanding Instructor Award.

    The National University Student Energy Economy Academic Creativity Competition is organized by Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics, and jointly organized by its Low Carbon Development Management Professional Committee, and Chinese Academy of Science and higher education institutions. In March 2023, this competition officially entered the “National University Students' Competition Catalogue” issued by the Chinese Society of Higher Education.

    The 10th National University Students' Energy Economy Academic Creativity Competition is aimed at undergraduates and master's degree and doctoral degree students in full-time higher education institutions, and the competition is divided into undergraduate and postgraduate groups. It is reported that the competition is divided into 25 regions, received a total of 561 institutions from the registration, registration team 17,994, the number of participants nearly 100,000 people. After the fierce competition in each region, communication evaluation and expert evaluation of the National Competition, the competition selected 895 works with third prize and above, 148 works advanced to the final, 20 grand prizes and 66 first prizes for the undergraduate group, and 16 grand prizes and 46 first prizes for the graduate group.
