Prof. LIANG Huigang firstly gave a lecture entitled “What Tasks Lead to AI Aversion? The Moderated Mediation of Trust and Distrust” to the students and faculty members of the School. He pointed out that with the wide application of AI technology, users are enjoying the efficiency and convenience brought by AI on the one hand, and are also concerned about the risks that may be brought by over-reliance on AI on the other. This ambivalence, i.e., the coexistence of trust and distrust, constitutes an important driving force of the phenomenon of user AI aversion. The experimental results show that task complexity stimulates both trust and distrust emotions when influencing users' AI aversion attitudes. More importantly, the mechanism of this influence varies significantly depending on the objectivity or subjectivity of the task. This finding not only reveals the complex interactions between task characteristics, trust and distrust in the formation of AI aversion, but also suggests for the first time the important role of task subjectivity as a moderating variable.

Prof. XUE Yajiong then delivered a lecture entitled “Design to Dissemination: Optimizing End-User Reach in Individual Information Systems” . By sharing an action research case study on the North Carolina Children's Virtual Healthy Minds Community House, she elaborated on how a coordinated dissemination strategy overcame many difficulties and successfully promoted this innovative program to the target population. The project not only demonstrates the tremendous potential of information systems to enhance children's mental health, but also highlights the critical role of strategic communication in ensuring the impact and relevance of IS solutions. She emphasized that through interdisciplinary collaboration, user participation, and continuous evaluation and feedback, communication strategies can be continuously optimized to maximize the value of IS.
