
On October 28th, 2024, Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI) at Chiang Mai University (CMU), Dr. Benjamas Suksatit, Deputy Dean, Dr. Chakkrapong Kuensaen, Head of Undergraduate Programs, and researcher Ms. She Bibi visited the School. Associate Professor SONG Yuanyang, Deputy Dean of ECUST School of Business, and Associate Professor PENG Zeyu, Director of the International Office, warmly received the guests.
Associate Prof.SONG Yuanyang first expressed a warm welcome to Dean Rujira Ouncharoen and her delegation. He briefly introduced the operation of the Sino-Thai 2+2 undergraduate dual-degree program in recent years and put forward his suggestions on how to improve the teaching quality and student learning experience of the program. He emphasized that the School pays great attention to students' learning and experience in the program, and values the cultivation of students' solid academic literacy and excellent practical abilities. He stated that the School will further optimize the program curriculum, improve the quality of English teaching, and build a more comprehensive feedback mechanism based on student feedback and suggestions, in order to comprehensively improve the quality of the cooperative program and enhance the learning experience of Thai students in China.
Dean Rujira expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the International College of Digital Innovation at Chiang Mai University for the warm reception by ECUST Business School. She first affirmed the efforts made by the School to promote the high-quality development of the program and conveyed the positive evaluations and real experiences of the students involved in the program. She stated that the relationship between China and Thailand is friendly, and Chiang Mai University also attaches great importance to its partnership with ECUST, referring to student exchange and interaction as an important bridge for establishing a deep cooperation between the two institutions.
Next, both sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as faculty exchange, research cooperation, and exploring more forms of cooperation.
ECUST has always maintained a close cooperative relationship with Chiang Mai University in Thailand. The two universities signed a memorandum of understanding in 2017, establishing a preliminary cooperation framework. On this basis, both sides officially signed the Sino-Thai 2+2 undergraduate dual-degree program agreement in 2019. The program is a four-year program, where Thai students complete the first two years of study at the International College of Digital Innovation at Chiang Mai University and then have the option to continue the last two years of study at ECUST School of Business. Students who complete the study plan and meet the degree application requirements will be awarded dual bachelor's degrees by both institutions.
