
On April 19th, the 2025 Business School Alumni Class Committee Representative Conference was successfully held. Themed "Classmates' Representatives, the Bond of Alma Mater," the conference gathered over a hundred participants, including alumni class committee representatives, alumni board members, club leaders, and professors. Through sessions of special reports, club promotions, and cutting-edge academic sharing, the event strengthened alumni connections and explored new opportunities for development. The conference was presided over by Yuan Zhujun, director of the Alumni and School Development Center.
Prof. Lou Gaoxiang, deputy dean of the Business School, delivered a report on the school's alumni work to all attendees, detailing the progress and achievements of the past year. He emphasized that East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) has always been committed to innovation and reform, and is deeply advancing the development strategy of "two new and two big" fields—new energy, new materials, and large health and security. The Business School is currently at a crucial stage of implementing the iBEST strategy, and Lou called on alumni to leverage their strengths and actively participate in the school's construction and development.
Subsequently, Wang Xiangfeng, head of the ECUST Fluid Intelligent Control Club, announced the club's 2025 annual forum plan. Focusing on three major areas—new energy equipment, intelligent equipment, and fluid technology—the forum aims to bring together alumni, experts, and enterprises in the field of fluid intelligent control to explore opportunities for technological innovation and the implementation of industrial projects. Wang stated that the club will actively build a platform for industry-academia-research-application cooperation, providing professional and high-quality channels for alumni to interact and collaborate, and promoting the commercialization of new technologies.
Additionally, the conference released information on the establishment of a tennis club. Ye Zhenglin, a representative of the club's preparatory group, introduced the construction and recruitment plans for the tennis club. The club will attract tennis enthusiasts through a combination of training and competition, promoting the popularity and development of tennis among alumni. It aims to bring health through sports and spark ideas through communication.
In the "Alma Mater Lecture" session, Professor Li Jia, director of the Data Science and Business Intelligence Research Institute at the Business School, delivered a lecture titled "The Evolution of Generative Artificial Intelligence." He systematically analyzed the development of AI technology, focusing on its history, goals, and the potential of generative AI. Using vivid examples and detailed data, Professor Li showcased the applications of AI in various fields, particularly in chemical enterprise safety monitoring and financial compliance, emphasizing the significant role of AI in driving social progress and economic development.
During the interactive session, alumni engaged in a lively discussion with Professor Li on the practical applications and accuracy of artificial intelligence.
The conference not only demonstrated the achievements of the Business School in alumni work and club construction but also provided a fascinating academic feast. It further strengthened the bond between the school and its alumni and injected new vitality into the school's development.
