The School’s Alumni Council Visits Alumni Companies to Explore New Paths in Digital Health

On April 29th, a delegation from the Alumni Council of the Business School at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) visited Wanda Information Co., Ltd. and its subsidiary Health Cloud (Shanghai) Digital Technology Co., Ltd. to explore new integration paths between the digital economy and the health industry. The visit was led by Dean Fan Tijun and Deputy Dean Lou Gaoxiang of the Business School, along with over 20 alumni council members and Yuan Zhujun, director of the Alumni Center.

Focusing on Health Technology and Discussing Industry Frontiers

During the discussion session, Yang Haiyan, a 2008 graduate and president of Health Cloud, provided an in-depth introduction to the company's strategy and positioning. She highlighted that Health Cloud operates under a model of "government-led and market participation," driving the digital transformation of medical services in Shanghai and across China. The company has made significant progress in chronic disease management and telemedicine, leveraging AI and big data technologies to empower grassroots healthcare and promote the equitable distribution of medical resources.

Dean Fan Tijun extended his warm greetings to the alumni and highly praised their achievements in the digital health sector. He noted that the Business School has been actively promoting education in health industry management in recent years, and the innovative practices of Health Cloud provide valuable case studies for business education. Fan emphasized that the school's iBSET strategy, which focuses on cross-disciplinary education integrating business, technology, and industry, aligns closely with Health Cloud's exploration in medical digitalization. He expressed hope for future collaboration in research, talent supply, and industry studies.

Tang Xiyue, vice president of Health Cloud, then detailed the company's development history, business growth, products and services, as well as its honors and evaluations. She revealed that Health Cloud has served over 73 million users across 31 provinces and cities in China and has established benchmark projects such as the Yangtze River Delta Internet Hospital, providing technical support for the optimal allocation of medical resources.


Empowering Development with Alumni Strength

In the interactive session, alumni agreed that Health Cloud's technological advantages could optimize regional medical resources and expressed their desire to deepen cooperation in areas such as medical big data applications, telemedicine, and data security.

At the end of the event, Li Zhaoying, chairman of the Alumni Council, summarized that the visit continued the council's mission of "connecting alumni and serving industries." He announced plans to organize more visits to specialized companies in the future to better align alumni resources with regional needs.

During the visit, the alumni council members also toured the exhibition halls of Wanda Information and Health Cloud, gaining a deeper understanding of their development history, core technological achievements, and contributions to the health technology field.
