
Recently, a delegation from ECUST School of Business, including Prof. Hou Limin, Chair of the School Council, Prof. Fan Tijun, Dean, retired Prof. Huang Lujin, and Dr. Peng Zeyu, Director of the International Office, visited the Shanghai Emergency Management Bureau for a research and exchange visit. Alumnus Ma Jianhong, director of the Shanghai Emergency Management Bureau, warmly received the delegation. Also participating in the symposium were Ge Qingfeng, director of the Risk Prevention and Safety Development Division, Xie Gang, deputy director of the Science and Technology Support Division, and Wang Jiayan from the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Division.
During the symposium, Ma Jianhong introduced the basic situation and relevant operations of the Shanghai Emergency Management Bureau. Prof. Fan Tijun outlined the development strategy, the overall situation of the School of Business, and the research achievements of the school in the fields of hazardous chemicals logistics, supply chain safety, and emergency management. Ge Qingfeng and Xie Gang shared their experiences in cooperation with universities from the perspectives of scientific research projects and the construction of key laboratories in the Emergency Management Bureau. Dr. Peng Zeyu, on behalf of the School of Business' interdisciplinary research team on resilient and safe cities, shared the team's research findings in grassroots safety governance.
In the open discussion session, both sides had an in-depth exchange on hot topics such as the training of emergency management personnel, the application of artificial intelligence in emergency management, and emergency rescue for vulnerable groups. Both sides agreed that in the future, they could strengthen exchanges and communication and deepen business cooperation under the guidance of joint party building, to contribute to the development of emergency management in Shanghai. During the research visit, the delegation from the School of Business also visited the command center of the Shanghai Emergency Management Bureau.
