On November 29th, the 2nd Meeting of the First Strategic Advisory Board of the School of Business, East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) was held. Experts and scholars including Chen Pu (CEO of Svoncao Group Asia and Chairman of Svoncao China), Chen Xiaohong (Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chair of University Council, Hunan University of Technology and Business), Hao Jinyu (President of SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services Co., Ltd. China Region), Holger Kohl (Dean of the College of Global Production Engineering, Technical University of Berlin), Luo Hai (Vice Party Secretary and President of Bright Food International Investment Co., Ltd.), Anuruddha Rathnide (President of Johnson Controls Asia-Pacific), Qian Feng (Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Vice President of the Shanghai CPPCC), Andrea Sianesi (Professor of the School of Management, Politecnico Milan University), Tang Lixin (Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Vice President of Northeastern University), Wu Baijun (Former Vice President of ECUST, Director of the Chinese Path to Modernization Institute), Xi Liqiang (Former Vice Chair, President and Vice Party Secretary of Shenergy Co., Ltd.), and Yu Qingming (Director of China National Pharmaceutical Investment Co., Ltd., Director of Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions Co., Ltd., and Director and General Manager of Sinopharm Industrial Investment Co., Ltd.) participated in the meeting both online and offline (sorted by the pinyin order of surnames). Jiang Chuanhai, Chair of University Council and Professor of ECUST, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting was hosted by Zhu Weihong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Vice President of ECUST.

Jiang Chuanhai extended a warm welcome to all members and sincere gratitude for their long-term care and support for the development of the University and the School. He pointed out that since the establishment of the board in 2023, all members have provided valuable guidance for the School's strategic planning, discipline construction and talent training. He emphasized that the current period is a critical juncture for the University to formulate the "15th Five-Year Plan". Faced with the profound changes brought about by the global changes unseen in a century and artificial intelligence, business education has ushered in a historic opportunity to reshape value, expand boundaries and lead transformation. He expressed expectations that members will continue to lead with wisdom, jointly promote the high-quality development of ECUST and its School of Business, and contribute to building a strong country in education, science and technology, and talents.

At the meeting, a ceremony for appointing new members of the Strategic Advisory Board was also held. Jiang Chuanhai was appointed as the Chairman of the Strategic Advisory Board, and Chen Pu and Zhu Weihong as members of the Strategic Advisory Board.

The meeting heard the report on the "15th Five-Year Plan" of the School delivered by Fan Tijun, Dean of the School of Business. Members of the meeting highly praised the achievements made by the business school in recent years, especially affirming its outstanding progress in obtaining three international authoritative accreditations: AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA&BGA. They also actively offered suggestions on issues such as the reform of business education, the refinement of disciplinary characteristics, the in-depth integration of industry and education, and international expansion, putting forward forward-looking proposals. It is hoped that the school will further rely on the university's disciplinary advantages in chemical engineering, energy, bio-medicine and other fields, deepen interdisciplinary integration, integration of industry and education, integration of science and education, and international exchanges and cooperation, and actively explore a development path for constructing a business education system and an independent knowledge system with ECUST characteristics to better serve national strategies and local development.
