The 4th Meeting of the 4th Alumni Council of the School is Successfully Held

    On January 24th, the 4th Meeting of the 4th Alumni Council of the School was held successfully. LOU Gaoxiang, Vice Dean of the School, LI Zhaoying, Chairman of the 4th Alumni Council, YUAN Zhujun, Director of the Alumni Center, and more than 30 alumni council members gathered together to review the achievements of alumni work in the past year and jointly plan for a new chapter of development in 2026.

    LI Zhaoying presided over the opening session. He reviewed the development of the council and pointed out that the meeting came at a critical juncture of the council's term of office. He emphasized that the meeting would build consensus and lay a solid foundation for the council's election to be held in the second half of the year.

Review of 2025: Pooling Wisdom and Empowering Development

    On behalf of the Secretariat of the Council, YUAN Zhujun delivered the 2025 Annual Alumni Work Report of the School. The report comprehensively reviewed the solid achievements of alumni work over the past year in aspects such as data governance, organizational network construction, brand activity deepening, visits to alumni enterprises, alumni services, giving back to the School, and communication innovation. It also objectively analyzed the room for improvement in in-depth data application, balanced organizational development, resource transformation mechanisms and service innovation, and put forward the 2026 work plan, which focuses on "upgrading alumni work to strategic empowerment" as the core. Subsequently, CHEN Qun from the Secretariat reported on the 2025 annual financial revenue and expenditure, adhering to the principle of openness and transparency to ensure that every cent is used to serve the development of alumni and the School.

Absorbing New Energy and Strengthening the Council

    To optimize the council's structure, the meeting examined and approved the list of additional council members. YANG Qifan, Deputy General Manager of the Human Resources Department of Shanghai Construction Group Co., Ltd. and an alumnus of the Engineering Management program of the Class of 2021, officially joined the council. In his speech, YANG Qifan stated that he would give full play to his own experience, actively connect the resources of enterprises and the school, and inject new impetus into the work of the council. Chairman LI Zhaoying presented him with the letter of appointment.

In-depth Discussion on 2026: Pragmatism, Innovation and Two-way Empowerment

    In the free exchange session, the atmosphere was warm. All council members conducted in-depth discussions on core topics such as "organizational upgrading, service quality improvement and brand empowerment", and put forward suggestions for the 2026 work. The members opened up their own resources and issued visit invitations covering artificial intelligence, financial investment, intelligent manufacturing, legal services, human resources and other fields, participating in the school's talent training system in depth.

Summary and Prospect: From "Vitality" to "Symbiosis"

    At the end of the meeting, LOU Gaoxiang delivered a concluding speech. He expressed his gratitude to all council members for their hard work over the past year and fully affirmed the constructive suggestions put forward by everyone. LOU Gaoxiang emphasized that the School's alumni work is at a critical period from "quantitative change" to "qualitative change", and proposed the three-tier development goals of "Vitality - Empowerment - Symbiosis": maintaining emotional bonds through a variety of colorful activities; facilitating the two-way empowerment and growth of alumni and the School with digital services and industrial ecological circles; promoting the closed loop of value among alumni, the School and society, and building a sustainable "community of shared future". He encouraged everyone to work together in the year of the council's election to truly build an "alumni community of shared future".

    This meeting not only summarized the past achievements, but also built consensus and clarified the direction for progress. Looking forward to 2026, the Alumni Association of the School of East China University of Science and Technology will, with the support of all alumni, work hand in hand to continuously create a new situation for alumni work and gather alumni strength for the School's "iBEST" development strategy and the construction of "Double First-Class" initiative.
