The School's First Global Action-Learning Project Successfully Concludes

2026-09-10

From July to August 2026, the first-ever Global Action-Learning Project of the School, was successfully carried out and completed. Centered on the theme “Challenges and Optimization Strategies for the Commercial Development of TCM Large-Scale Models”, the project was supervised by LEI Wei, faculty member of the Department of Business Administration. An international project team of 13 students was assembled, including 8 undergraduate students from the School and 5 overseas students coming from Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea and other countries. The project aims to guide students to step outside the classroom and engage with enterprises, apply management knowledge to solve real-world problems in authentic business contexts, and cultivate students' global vision, cross-cultural collaboration skills, and practical innovation capabilities.

On July 26th, the project team paid a corporate visit and held in-depth exchanges at Shanghai Shuhui Qihuang Health Technology Co., Ltd. (Shuhui Qihuang). It is an innovative enterprise focused on the deep integration of artificial intelligence and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), committed to advancing the inheritance and international development of traditional Chinese medicine through digitalization and intelligent technologies. As large-model technologies rapidly shift from technical innovation toward industrial application, the integration of AI and the traditional Chinese medicine industry faces many new commercial challenges. Responding to the enterprise's actual needs, the project team took the company's core product, the “Smart Vitality Ring”, as its entry point and zeroed in on key issues arising in its commercialization process. Through corporate site visits, discussions with company managers, and internal team workshops, the team gained thorough insights into the firm's operations and market environment.

Following continuous research and group discussions throughout the summer, the project team delivered its final project presentation on August 28. Titled “Smart Ring, Smart Strategy: Commercializing Shuhui Qihuang's AI-Powered TCM Wearable”, the presentation systematically showcased the project's research outcomes. Focusing on the commercial growth of the Smart Vitality Ring, the report put forward targeted optimization ideas covering target markets, user demands, product positioning, business models and market expansion. It also explored future commercialization and international development paths for AI-plus-TCM products from an international-market perspective.

As the School's inaugural Global Action-Learning Project, one notable feature of this initiative is its international, cross-cultural student team. Students from diverse national and cultural backgrounds jointly conducted corporate research, problem analysis and solution design, generating multi-faceted viewpoints through teamwork. Going forward, the School will further explore talent-development models of “action learning + internationalization + artificial intelligence”. By introducing real-world corporate challenges, multinational student teams and cross-cultural practical scenarios, the School will promote deep integration of professional knowledge and business practice. It strives to cultivate interdisciplinary new-business-talents equipped with global vision, innovative thinking and hands-on competencies, and provide richer learning platforms for students to understand innovative practices of Chinese enterprises and participate in global business competition.
