Guest Bio:
Zipeng Zhou serves as Executive Managing Director at China International Capital Corporation (CICC) and leads the Innovation Economy Group at CICC Research Institute. He is also a Master's supervisor at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), with research spanning AI economics, innovation economy, and macroeconomics. Prior to joining CICC, he conducted economic research at the World Bank, Capital University of Economics and Business, CITIC Securities, and Everbright Securities. He has published numerous papers and articles in domestic and international journals. Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China; Master's degree from the China Center for Economic Research at Peking University; Ph.D. in Economics from Georgetown University. Contributed to multiple publications including Digital Economy: The Next Decade, The Economics of Carbon Neutrality, Industrial Chains of Major Nations, Toward an Olive-Shaped Society, The Belt and Road Initiative: A New Decade, The Torch of Innovation Never Dies, Competition and Theory of Technological Innovation, AI Economics, and Humanoid Robots: Business and Economics. Published numerous papers in journals such as Economics Letters and Finance Research Letters.
Synopsis:
Humanoid robots will serve as the pivotal bridge connecting general artificial intelligence to the physical world, emerging as the next-generation universal production tool. This is because they can digitize and replicate vast amounts of physical labor alongside portions of mental labor, freeing production from reliance on demographic dividends and opening a new growth pathway for the global economy. For China, a comprehensive manufacturing ecosystem, abundant application scenarios, and vast data resources confer unique advantages in the humanoid robotics arena. This sector holds the potential to cultivate a new trillion-dollar industry and reshape commercial models. Financial institutions and capital markets should regard humanoid robotics as a strategic long-term frontier, proactively positioning themselves, investing patiently, and supporting the sustained growth of leading enterprises and pivotal technologies.
