Synopsis:

  The traditional logic of globalization is facing the most significant challenge since World War II. This is one of the most cutting-edge global research directions at present. This talk will review the main research results and ideas in this field, analyze the upheaval of the basic assumptions of business theory by these drastic changes, and finally discuss the directions and topics worthy of future research.

Introduction to the Lecturer:

  Victor Cui (Hong Cui) is the Conrad Distinguished Research Professor at the University of Waterloo, Canada. Prof. Cui is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of geopolitical risk, strategic management, innovation, and international intellectual property protection. His research results have been published in SMJ, JIBS and other top international journals.2023 Professor Cui's series of papers in JIBS, for the first time, pointed out that the institutional logic of globalization is undergoing a complex change from an economic orientation to a political orientation and established a theoretical framework for analyzing corporate coping strategies, which is one of the pioneering theoretical studies in this field. Prof. Cui serves as the chair of the IDG Business Research Review Committee of the Social Science Foundation of Canada, and the chair of the annual meeting of the American Strategic Management Association. Prof. Cui's research has been widely reported and quoted in foreign media, such as Fortune magazine and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
