Synopsis:
Natural language processing (NLP) and corresponding large language models (LLMs) have found extensive application in business research and practice. This lecture will first introduce the principles and evolution of various NLP methods, then build upon this foundation to explore their practical applications in business research and operations.
Introduction to the Lecturer:
Zhen Tang is an Assistant Professor at the Loyola Marymount University School of Business. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business Administration from East China University of Science and Technology, followed by a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Arizona with a minor in Econometrics. His research interests encompass incentive structures and control mechanisms for marketing teams, business location analysis, and the application of natural language processing in social science research. His work has been published in journals including the Journal of International Business Studies and Service Science.
