  Professor Jiafu Tang is Chairman of the Academic Committee and Xinghai Scholar Chair Professor at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. He has been selected as a Distinguished Professor under the Ministry of Education's Major Talent Program, Chief Scientist of the Innovative Research Group of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and a recipient of the National High-Level Talent Program with the title "Outstanding Young and Middle-Aged Expert." He serves as Deputy Director of the Steering Committee for Management Science and Engineering Education of the Ministry of Education, Deputy Director of the System Simulation Professional Committee of the Systems Engineering Society of China, and Executive Director of the Management Science and Engineering Society and the Operations Research Society of China. He has been selected as an Outstanding Expert of Liaoning Province, an Academic and Technical Leader of Liaoning Province, and a recipient of the Liaoning "Baiqianwan" Talent Program. He serves on the editorial boards of several journals including Systems Engineering-Theory & Practice, Journal of Systems Engineering, Control and Decision, Chinese Journal of Management Science, and Decision Analytics Journal. He has been repeatedly listed on the ESI China Highly Cited Researchers list. He has led numerous research projects including those from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Young Scientist, Major, Key, Key International Cooperation, General, and Youth programs). He has published over 100 SCI papers in journals including JOC, POM, TS, MP, TRB/TRC/D/E, OMEGA, IEEE SMC, EJOR, IJPR, and IJPE, and has published 4 monographs. His work has received over 3,000 SCI citations with an H-index of 45. His main research interests include manufacturing system operations management and logistics optimization, service system operations optimization and decision-making, quality systems engineering, and data mining and business intelligence.

Synopsis:

  This study examines how three government subsidy modes, i.e., service utilization subsidy (SUS), processing performance subsidy (PPS), and one-time fixed subsidy (OFS), affect firm entry, operational effort, and farmer adoption in Grain post-harvest service centers (GPSCs). A two-stage sequential game-theoretic model is developed, capturing farmers' heterogeneous trust in loss reduction and endogenous perceived-loss formation. We formulate the government's problem as minimizing total post-harvest loss subject to a budget constraint, while the firm jointly chooses service price and loss-reduction effort. We derive equilibria for both unsaturated and saturated markets and conduct a systematic comparison across budget levels and technology cost coefficients, and deduce some management insights.
