Synopsis:
We compare air pollution control policies in China and Italy, analyze the causes of anthropogenic pollution and its economic and social impacts, with a focus on the Yangtze River Delta in China and the Po Valley in Italy. We compare China’s centralized policy approach with Europe’s decentralized regulatory framework, and argue that environmental policies need to be integrated with labor market adjustments and sustainability education to achieve a smooth green transition.
The lecture adopts Team-Based Learning (TBL) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methods. Participants are requested to read the following material in advance: The Evolution and Impact of Air Pollution China vs Italy.
