
On May 7th, 2025, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) officially confirmed in a letter that the School of Business, East China University of Science and Technology has successfully passed the AACSB re-accreditation after rigorous review by the AACSB Continuous Improvement Review Committee and approval by the Board of Directors. The re-accreditation is valid for six years.

In January 2025, an AACSB re-accreditation peer review team composed of Prof. Ye Qiang, Executive Dean of the School of Management at University of Science and Technology of China, Executive Dean of the School of Technology and Business, and Dean of the International Institute of Finance; Prof. Wang Zhaohua, Dean of the School of Economics at Beijing Institute of Technology; and Prof. Huang Jiaqi, Dean of the College of Commerce at National Chengchi University, conducted a three-day on-site visit to the School. The peer review team comprehensively and thoroughly examined various aspects of the School, including its vision and mission, strategic development, teaching and research, faculty development, talent cultivation, social responsibility, and impact, through methods such as reviewing documents and conducting in-depth interviews. Ultimately, the School received high recognition and affirmation from the peer review team for its outstanding overall strength.

During the process, participants included Jiang Chuanhai, Secretary of the University Council, Xuan Fuzhen, President of the University, Vice Presidents Wang Huifeng and Yan Haifeng, Hou Limin, Secretary of the School Council, Fan Tijun, Dean of the School, Tang Jimin, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, as well as representatives from the School management team, faculty and students, alumni, and industry partners, who were involved in the on-site assessment.
The School first obtained AACSB accreditation in 2020. The successful re-accreditation by AACSB not only signifies a further enhancement of its competitiveness among global business schools but also injects strong momentum into the university's international development. Currently, the School has successfully obtained three of the world's most authoritative international accreditations: AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), and AMBA & BGA (Association of MBAs & Business Graduates Association). It has joined the ranks of the top 1% of business schools globally that hold all three accreditations. Moving forward, the School will adhere to the concept of “promoting development by keeping abreast with the accreditation standards" , and persist in innovation and improvement, striving steadily towards the goal of becoming a world-class business school.

AACSB was founded in 1916 with founding members including top universities such as Harvard University, Columbia University, Cornell University, University of Pennsylvania, Yale University, and University of Wisconsin. The stringent and high standards of AACSB accreditation are widely regarded as one of the most prestigious business education accreditations. Currently, less than 6% of business schools worldwide have obtained this accreditation.
