
Recently, a team from Stanford University released a list of the World's Top 2% Scientists. Prof. Zhou Weixing and Prof. Shao Shuai from ECUST School of Business were both selected for the "Lifetime Scientific Impact Ranking (1960-2022)" and the "2022 Scientific Impact Ranking".

The list of World's Top 2% Scientists is released by Elsevier in collaboration with the team of Prof. John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University, and it is scored based on the Scopus database using metrics of six key factors such as total citations, H-index, and Hm-index.
It is known that the list selects top 2% scientists from nearly 7 million scientists worldwide, covering 22 fields and 176 sub-disciplinary areas, providing a measure of scientists' long-term research performance. A scholar's inclusion in the list means that the scholar has a high global influence in his or her research field and represents the strong scientific strength of his or her institution.
Zhou Weixing is a professor and doctoral supervisor in ECUST School of Business. He was conferred with the titles of Shanghai Leading Talents, New Century Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Shuguang Scholars, and Shanghai Young Science and Technology Morning Stars.
Prof. Zhou Weixing is mainly engaged in the research of financial physics and complexity of socio-economic systems, as well as big data analysis in related fields. He has published more than 200 SCI/SSCI-indexed papers, with more than 7000 citations, and his 11 papers have been selected as ESI highly cited papers, with an H-index of 46. He has been on the list of Most Cited Chinese Researchers released by Elsevier for 8 consecutive years. His papers are mainly published in mainstream financial and economic journals such as JIFMIM, JEBO and QF and important interdisciplinary journals such as PNAS and Rep. Prog. Phys.. He has chaired more than 10 national and provincial projects, including 5 projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Shao Shuai, Distinguished Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of East China University of Science and Technology, Deputy Dean of the School of Business, Deputy Director of the Center for Energy Economy and Environmental Management Research, Chief Expert of major projects supported by the National Social Science Fund of China, winner of the National Excellent Young Scientists Fund, has been successively selected as the Global "Highly Cited Researcher" of Clarivate Analytics, "China Highly Cited Researcher" of Elsevier, World's Top 2% Scientists (published by Stanford University team), and World's Top 5% Economists (RePEc/IDEAS database). His main research fields are energy economy and environmental management, and regional sustainable development.
