On June 14, 2024, Prof. Robin Clark, Dean of the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of Warwick, together with Prof. LU Dawei, Academic Director of International Programs, and Ms. Nicole Craddock-Zhang, Manager of International Cooperation, visited the School to further two sides’ cooperation. Prof. HOU Limin, Chair of the School Council, Prof. FAN Tijun, Dean of the School, Prof. JIANG Zhiqiang, Vice Chair of the School Council, Prof. HUANG Lujin, Academic Director of ECUST-UC Joint MBA Program, Dr. PENG Zeyu, Director of International Office, Ms. WANG Yamei, Program Manager of ECUST International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Ms. LIU Xianshan, Ms. XU Tingting and Ms. TONG Meng from the Professional Masters Progrms Center attended this meeting.

    During the meeting, both sides introduced their schools’ development course, mission, vision and values, and expressed their wish to further two sides’ cooperation in potential ways. Based on each ones’ educational resources and research advantages, the two sides had an in-depth discussion on undergraduate programs, masters programs, academic exchange and cooperation, and reached a broad consensus. With a foundation of long-standing cooperation between the two institutions, this gathering not only deepened mutual understanding, but also laid a solid foundation for a closer cooperative relationship in the future.

    Guided by the mission“To bridge business with technology, and to nurture managerial talents with advanced knowledge and practical ability ”, the School actively seeks cooperation with international partners to develop more programs that integrate business with technology. The University of Warwick is a world-renowned university ranked in the top 100 QS World University Ranking, and as one of the largest schools in the University of Warwick, WMG is a world leader in the field of manufacturing and management sciences, with the specialty of "Supply Chain and Logistics Management" ranked first in the UK. The School has introduced the module of "Supply Chain Management" to its MBA program since 2021, and has successfully developed ECUST-UK Joint MBA program, which has cultivated a large number of excellent managerial talents in this field.

    During the visit, Prof. Robin Clark visited the current class in ECUST-UK Joint MBA Program and expressed his hope that WMG hopes to provide more high-quality courses for the MBA students of ECUST and bring more international perspectives; he also hoped that the students can benefit from these courses and enjoy this learning process, and they can come to the University of Warwick in the future for study and exchange.

    During the evening’s session, graduates from previous classes of ECUST-UK international MBA were invited to share their experience with Prof. Robin. Through the dialogue between Prof. Robin Clark and Dr. PENG Zeyu, students had a clearer picture of the educational philosophy and core values of WMG, which kindles their keen anticipation for courses offered by WMG.

    Mr. YANG Jiasai and Mr. DOU Junyu, 2021 and 2022 intake representatives, shared their learning experience and outcomes through this joint program. They managed to improve their practical and innovative ability and broaden their global vision after graduated from this ECUST-UK program.

    This visit facilitates further understanding of the two institutions and lays a solid foundation for future cooperation. It is both sides’ wish to promote resource sharing, faculty and student exchange and research collaboration through multi-layer cooperation, and to nurture more management talents in the future.
