As the cornerstone of a nation and a symbol of national prosperity, education speaks for the development potential of a country. The importance of education for the development of individuals and society is self-evident. In the past 33 years, ECUST School of Business has been dedicated to developing talents whose ability measures up to the demand of social development. The School takes pride in our aspiring students and alumni in all walks of life who are making contributions to the society.

    Our vision is to develop into a world-class business school. To achieve this end, stable and abundant financial resources other than government financial allocations and tuition income are needed. Therefore, the School must tap into social educational fund and launch fundraising initiatives to engage outstanding professors, support scholarships and grants, improve facilities and level up our education quality in an all-round fashion. 

    The alumni selflessly support our development. In the meantime, they also benefit from the knowledge and resources offered and prestige boasted by the university. Since the life and career of our alumni are influenced by the development of the School, it is also their hope that we always lead the way in the field of economic management education. 

    As the direct stakeholders of the School’s development, the alumni are also our most reliable supporters. The donation made by them has always been an important indicator of our education quality. 

    Since 2013, the School of Business has been receiving donations from our alumni. With sincere gratitude, we call on all our alumni to make donations. Whatever the form and size is, these contributions will be greatly treasured, since every bit of them represents hope and love and means tremendously for our development. 

    All the donations will be used in developing our faculty, improving facilities, supporting students’ development and assisting programs. Every penny spent will be carefully measured to generate worthy outcomes. All alumni are welcome to supervise our use of donations. Relevant information will be released regularly on our website. 

Donation Items:

    I. The Faculty Development Foundation

    The faculty is the cornerstone for ECUST’s effort to develop into a world-class university. A high-caliber faculty not only lifts our education and research quality to that of the world’s leading universities, but also helps to motivate students and activate their creativity. Every student at ECUST expects to interact with faculty who plays the role of both a tutor for their academic development and a mentor for their life. We believe this is an expectation cherished by all that have ever attended universities. It is the sincere hope of ECUST that everyone who has spent their student years here could contribute their share to the university’s development. The Faculty Development Foundation aims to enable our students to develop under the instruction of outstanding faculty. Meanwhile, we also hope that out alumni could share their experience and successful stories with the students.

    Donors may support our current professors or newly engaged professors by setting up chairs. Chair professors closely cooperate with individual or enterprise donors to conduct teaching and research activities including specific research programs, academic conferences, symposiums, academic exchanges and case development, etc. 

For donation totaling RMB 500,000, the foundation will be named after the donor. 

    II. Building Development Foundation

    To develop teaching buildings equipped with modern facilities, ECUST has set up the Building Development Foundation which is exclusively used for building construction and facility upgrading. Donors may contribute in the name of a specific company, person or class and in any form including cash. The donor may have the entire building or part of it named after him/her and have his/her name or brand logo engraved on the building or facilities. Physical donations such as needed facilities, teaching materials and artwork are also welcome.

    Alumni’s financial donation will help create a modern studying environment for students and facilitate teaching activities so as to enhance the teaching efficiency and quality. 

    Time flies. It was at ECUST that we spent our unforgettable youthful years, a place where our dreams started and a candle that nurtured us. 

    Donating to ECUST is a great way for our alumni to reciprocate their alma mater. It is our sincere hope that our alumni could contribute to the development of the School, creating a place for alumni to gather together and remember the good old days. 

    1. Forms of Donation

    Donation can be made for specific purposes or not. The former includes but is not limited to:

    1) For labs or case rooms: donors who make a one-time donation totaling RMB 100,000 enjoy 10 years of naming rights; donors who make a one-time donation totaling RMB 200,000 enjoy 20 years of naming rights; donors who make a one-time donation totaling RMB 500,000 or above enjoy permanent naming rights;

    2) For lecture halls: donors who make a one-time donation totaling RMB 1 million enjoy 10 years of naming rights; donors who make a one-time donation totaling RMB 3 million or above enjoy permanent naming rights;

    3) For multi-functional theaters: donors who make a one-time donation to our two types of multi-functional theaters totaling RMB400, 000 and RMB 500,000 respectively enjoy 10 years of naming rights; donors who make a one-time donation to our two types of multi-functional theaters totaling RMB1.5 million and RMB 2 million respectively enjoy permanent naming rights;

    4) For classrooms: donors who make a one-time donation to our two types of classrooms totaling RMB200, 000 and RMB 300,000 respectively enjoy 10 years of naming rights; donors who make a one-time donation to our two types of multi-functional theaters totaling RMB 800,000 and RMB 1 million respectively enjoy permanent naming rights;

    5) Donors donating classroom desks each worth RMB5,000 (first arrive, first served) enjoy 5 years of naming rights;

    6) The Alumni Activity Center of the School will be built through crowdfunding;

    7) For other public facilities inside buildings, there’s no specific requirement for the amount.

    Donations without specific focus can be made in any form or size according to the will of the individual or organization.

Donor Partnership Program

    The donation partnership program aims to strengthen the coordination and cooperation between the School and companies. 

    Donors support the development of and forge long-term strategic partnership with the School. The Program connects the ever-changing business community with cutting-edge teaching and research activities in business administration. Through such a mutually beneficial way of donation, the donors will become the most active participants in the School’s teaching and research. This paves the way for donors to absorb more talents in the future and help them to showcase their sustainability. 

Benefits for Donors

    To thank the donors for their support and contribution, the School of Business will show its gratitude through carefully designed acknowledgement plans.

    1) Donors enjoy related naming rights. Nameplates will be made and placed conspicuously (naming rights for building: the name will be engraved on the facade of the building);

    2) Outstanding graduates will be recommended preferentially to the donors;

    3) On the condition that normal teaching activities are not affected, the donors enjoy the priority in using the building or facility;

    4) A donation ceremony will be held and the donors will be promoted through various channels;

    5) Support is provided for donors to conduct employee trainings and donors enjoy priority in having related courses developed;

    6) Donors enjoy priority in selecting students to attend the School’s high-level manager public training courses;

    7) Donors enjoy priority in attending the School’s industrial forums and other events;

    8) Donors may conduct programs (including business scheme competitions, media public relation building activities, project consulting, case study and writing, etc.) in cooperation with the School;

    9) Other benefits may be granted upon consultation with the School

    Donation acknowledgements: an acknowledgement wall will be erected inside the building. For individuals who have made donations totaling RMB2, 000 or above and organizations that have made donations totaling RMB10, 000 or above, their names will be permanently printed on the acknowledgement wall. Donors will receive donation certificates issued by ECUST and public service donation tax deduction receipts. Information of all alumni donors will be included in the “Alumni Donor List” and publicized through the School’s website. 

    Donation acknowledgement nameplates: 1) individual donors: name, student ID, program and class; 2) organization donors: organization name and other information upon discussion; 3) enterprise donors: company logo and introduction, etc.; 4) donors that are granted naming rights: space within the “Donation Item” section left to donors to decide on the content.

    III. Student Development Foundation

    It is too natural that young people see their hope and dreams shattered by the hard rock of reality. Isn’t it true that they frequently encounter setbacks and their entrepreneurial attempts aborted because of financial difficulties? When you have the dream but not the means to realize it, disappointment naturally follows. It is capable people like you who may lend a helping hand to those enterprising students through our Student Development Program. 

    The Student Development Foundation aims to provide all-round support to students at the School and forge an enabling environment for their development. The Foundation covers scholarships and grants, international exchanges, social practice, as well as entrepreneurial and innovative initiatives. 

    The Foundation will be used to 1) provide financial assistance to students experiencing financial hardship or family accident to enable them to continue their study; 2) build a stage for students of high potentials to participate in academic research, overseas study programs, academic conferences, social practice so as to promote their development both academically and practically; and 3) provide financial assistance for students to involve in entrepreneurial attempts.

    Your generosity will help students fulfill their dreams and create a brighter future for ECUST and the society.

    Donation amount: no specific requirement. Every bit counts as a token of encouragement for the students. 

    Donation acknowledgements: Donors who have made donation totaling RMB1,000 or above will receive donation certificates issued by ECUST ; all donors are entitled to public service donation tax deduction receipts. Information of all alumni donors will be included in the “Alumni Donor List” and shown to the public through the School’s website. Those whose contributions total RMB 100,000 or above enjoy naming rights. 

    IV. Sustainable Development Foundation

    As a long-term national strategy, sustainable development enables a coordinated development of economy, society, resources and environment. ECUST boasts disciplinary advantages in energy, chemistry and environmental protection, which enable the School of Business to connect with industrial leaders in these areas. As for environmental protection, the School provides training courses in resources utilization, maintenance and efficiency to relevant small- and medium-sized enterprises.

    The Foundation is initiated by the EDP Program Office in cooperation with BASF and associations such as Environment, Health & Safety.

    V. Other foundations  

    The School actively responds to the donors in discussing over the current project and opportunities for donation. The School will establish other special foundations, to which the donors who make donations totaling RMB 100,000 or above will be granted naming rights.
